John Fitzpatrick

John Fitzpatrick is a native born Nova Scotian that lives and works at his craft in Northwest Cove overlooking the sea on the South Shore.  Now that he is retired from a career as a mechanical engineer, he is free to continue his life long passion of woodturning.  He draws inspiration for his work from the inherent beauty of each particular piece of wood with its many variations of colour, grain and texture.  As a result, each piece is unique and is shaped to enhance and showcase its natural characteristics.  When travelling around the province, he acquires native woods that are already on the ground due to various misadventures such as our frequent wind storms.  For instance, hurricane Juan provided lots of material for future projects.  John’s works are collected by appreciative clients throughout Canada and abroad.
